Leinster is the most easterly of the four provinces of Ireland, and is the most populated with the city of Dublin at its heart.
Dublin Book Festival
The Dublin Book Festival runs from Thursday November 13th until Sunday the 16th. It is one of Dublin’s largest book festivals with four days of readings, public interviews, book launches, and workshops celebrating Irish publishing across a whole range of genres, from comedy and literary fiction, business, cookery and children’s literature, to poetry and the Irish language. And best of all, most of them are free!

Munster is the most southerly of the four provinces of Ireland and stretches from Tipperary in the South Midlands to Waterford in the South East, and from Clare, Limerick and Kerry down to Cork in the South.The entire area is famed for Irish traditional music, song and dance. The Cork Film Festival
The 59th Cork Film Festival kicks off on Friday November 7th and runs for ten days until the 16th. The festival opens with a screening of the Australian film Charlie’s Country, directed by Rolf de Heer, and starring the legendary indigenous actor David Gulpilil, who won the Best Actor prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The Cashel Arts Festival
The town of Cashel in county Tipperary is built around the ancient Rock of Cashel. This has been the ancestral seat of the High Kings of Munster for some two thousand years, and Cashel has played a central role in Irish history since pagan times.
The Listowel Food Fair in county Kerry
The 20th Listowel Food Fair runs in County Kerry from Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd of November and this year it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Sneem International Storytelling & Folklore Festival
As you make your way along the ring of Kerry from Killarney, up through the national park leaving behind you the spectacular views of the lakes below, you eventually come to a fork in the road. Left takes you into Kenmare, and the inevitable stop at the Park Hotel there. Right takes you past the equally tempting stop at the Kenmare, until you arrive at the village of Sneem.
